Open Channel Hydraulics

Main focus areas:
Turbulence measurements for open channel flows (e.g., ADV,LDV,PIV,PTV, etc.), Coherent structures in open channels, influences of bed roughness, bed forms (e.g., dunes, alternate bars, etc.) and vegetation, influence of unsteadiness (e.g., flood flows, oscillatory boundary layers, etc.), fluid/particle interaction in sediment-laden flows, primary flow, secondary currents and sediment transport in meandering compound channels, advanced numerical and experimental techniques for open channel flows, flow and mass transport processes in channel with hydraulic structures (e.g., groyne fields, bridge piers, etc.), pollutant transport in open channels, wind-driven open channel flows and gas transfer across air/water interface.
