Physical Modeling
Physical modelling has always played an important role in the advancement of the knowledge of fluid mechanics. Although numerical simulations are ubiquitous, confrontation with physical modelling is still needed to provide a firm scientific root. Many dynamical processes of environmental flows are indeed poorly parameterized, including turbulence, sediment transport and morphodynamics.
In this session we especially invite those presentations that illustrate the modern use of physical models in situations where other methods are inadequate or where physical models are used in synergy with other methods.
