The IAHR Council approved in May 2009 a range of changes to the IAHR Structure designed to make our association more responsive to the modern world! The Report of the Task Force on Structural Change can be downloaded, and an article summarising the report was published in Hydrolink Issue 3, 2009.

Our New Organisation

IAHR has three technical Divisions :

• IAHR- Hydraulics to focus on mono-disciplinary activities;
• IAHR Hydro-Environment covers multi-disciplinary activities; and
• IPD focusses on Innovation and Professional Development.

Each of the divisions is the responsibility of a Vice President which ensures much stronger co-ordination and support for the technical activities of the Association. The new structure provides more responsibility to the Technical Committees with elections for the leadership teams, the development of an electronic membership platform to facilitate networking, and greater responsibility for specialist congresses.

Committee Preferences

In the new IAHR structure it is intended that you as a Member will be able to play a more active role in the peer groups most closely related to your interests! In order to do this we need you to identify:

• ONE primary affiliation and up to
• TWO secondary affiliations

which in the future will give you voting rights (one and one half vote, respectively) in the Committees which most interest you!
